It feels so good to be back and writing on a normal schedule and since DivasGuideToLife has been MIA, I'm so excited to get back to regular postings.
It's hard to believe that it's already May. Time seems to be completely flying by. In any case, I came across a few products for April that I wanted to share with you all that I really enjoyed.
Wet n Wild MegaImpact Mascara: Wet n Wild is definitely one of my all time favorite drugstore brands. I love the fact that they put out such a large variety of quality products. Recently I was able to pick up this mascara on a drugstore run and this has by far become one of my favorites. I love the fact that the formula isn't as messy as other mascaras and the quality is really good. For $4 this mascara is budget friendly and definitely one of my favorites to grab for my everyday makeup look.
CoverGirl TruBlend Concealer in Deep: I've always been a huge fan of Covergirl's concealers. The pigments and formulas work really well on my skin and so when I heard about CG's new TruBlend line I ran to my local drugstore to try it out. While I personally wasn't a fan of the foundation, the TruBlend concealer definitely didn't disappoint and it blended perfectly with my skin and covered and concealed all of my dark marks and blemishes. These retail around $8 or $9 depending on where you go.
Maybelle Dream Fresh BB Cream: For Spring and Summer I like to switch out my foundation for something lighter and this BB Cream is definitely my go to cream. I love the fact that it's formula is super light weight but also super pigmented and it's definitely one of my favorite BB's so far on the market.
NYC Sun n Bronze Bronzing Powder in Montauk Bronze: Lately I've been trying out a ton of bronzing powders and with the Spring and Summer months in full swing I like adding a nice bronzey glow and highlight to my makeup routine. NYC's Sun n Bronze powder has definitely become my go to highlight. While the formula has a slight shimmer the formula is light enough to where it gives just the right amount of pigment and subtle sparkle. These retail for about $3-4.
ELF Bronzing Brush: This affordable brush is a must-have in your collection if you plan on using bronzer or a highlight on your cheeks. The slanted brush (that's only $1!) picks up just the right amount of product and applies easily and spreads easily to your cheekbones.
Jessup Brushes: I'm always looking for great brushes to add to my expanding collection so when I heard a bunch of Youtubers and beauty bloggers were using these affordable brushes, I ordered them on Ebay. I got the full set which comes with a set of five face brushes and five eye/blending brushes. For just $15 I'd definitely recommend these brushes if you're looking to add to your collection or just for something to practice with or build with.
Creme of Nature Argan Oil Edge Gel: My next favorite is actually a haircare product and as you may or may not know, my hair is relaxed. So for those days where my edges cant seem to quite behave or stay down I like to use a bit of gel so they stay in place. I've tried a few on the market and so I was eager to try this one. I will definitely say that so far, I find the gel does get the job done. It does hold my edges down for a few hours. The formula does leave your hands with a bit of that gel stickiness but it's not as oily which is a plus. I also LOVE the smell and the fact that it doesn't have that gross icky "gel smell". This retails for about $5.
Sunglasses: My next favorite is a non beauty item but it's definitely one of my favorite accessories for spring and summer. A nice cute pair of sunglasses is a great way to add some extra oomph to any outfit and/or hide those puffy eyes on days where you're not able to do your makeup. With a variety of shapes, sizes, and prices it's super easy for you to play around to find the right style that fits your face. My recent go-to's are these brown print aviators from Aldo. They retail for about $12.
Candles: My last April favorites actually happened by chance. I was in my local Walgreens and walked past a candle display where they were all on sale. I've never been a fan of candles but believe it or not while the candles were fairly cheap, they were pretty scented! I picked up three scents : French Vanilla, Pineapple Colada and Papaya Mango.
