Movie Review: "For Colored Girls"

I got a chance to see "For Colored Girls" the very day it came out in theaters and it was like no other film I have ever seen before in my life.

It wasn't meant to be either. I know there have been a lot of different critics and reviews on this movie and while I am one who is giving a positive review, I would advise that this movie is not for everyone and anyone who gives a ignorant critique of this movie should educate themselves on Shange's original work.

I posted the trailer a couple of months ago and just knew that I was going to see this movie as soon as it came out.

And I don't want to, or don't plan on spoiling the movie. All I will say is that I left feeling a many different things including inspired, touched, moved and meditative.

I also would recommend that ALL women see this movie because there is no doubt in my mind you will not walk out without taking something from the film with you.
